Soren Kaplan
Soren Kaplan's passion for breakthrough innovation is examplified through his diverse experience from leading Hewlett-Packard's innovation and strategy group during the roaring 1990's, to co-founding a web 2.0 collaboration software company, to consuling to start-ups and global companies. As a Co-Founder and Prinicipal of InnovationPoint, he leads strategic initiatives for global organizations in the areas of new product, service and business model innovation. Soren's recent clients include Visa, Disney, Colgate-Palmolive, Kimberly-Clark, PepsiCo, Frito-Lay, Aviva (UK), Philips (The Netherlands), SK Telecom (South Korea), Grundfos (Denmark), Tekes (Finland) and numerous other leading brands and firms.
Soren is an Adjunct Professor within the Imagineering Academy at NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. Soren previously served as Manager of the Business Innovation & Technology Solutions group at Hewlett-Packard (HP) in the Silicon Valley where he led an internal consulting group focused on strategic planning, product and service innovation, and organizational transformation. His start-up experience includes co-founding and leading iCohere, one of the first web 2.0 collaboration software platforms for building social networks and communities of practice. He currently sits on the advisory board of PocketOffice, an early stage start-up focused on mobile solutions for the small business market.
Soren has presented at numerous conferences and institutions including Innovation Convergence and the Harvard Business School. Quotes, articles, and book chapters from Soren have appeared in publications like Fast Company, Strategy & Leadership, The International Handbook on Innovation, Practicing Organizational Development, Strategic Change, and The Journal of Creativity and Innovation Management, among others. He holds Master's and Ph.D. degress in Organizational Psychology.
