Customer Connection Videos
IS THIS PRODUCT RIGHT FOR YOU?
This works best for books with some kind of inspirational message that is easily boiled down. Complex technical treatises are not a great fit. BK Life books are usually a great fit.
DEADLINE
You should start working on this about one month after your author day, so that you won’t be up against the wire for a pub date launch.
INPUTS
- 12-18 sentences we can put in the video. This should be either the elevator pitch for your book as a whole, or a summary of your most inspirational chapter.
- Suggestions for what types of visuals you would like to go with the sentences (if you have a strong opinion on this.)
- At the end of the video, we’ll ask the viewer to enter their email address so they can receive a free gift. You need to decide what free gift makes the most sense (usually a free chapter from the book, but other giveaways are possible as well.) Also you need to decide how to phrase the Ask.
- If you have opinions on the music or sound for the video, we’d love to hear them.

BUDGET & CONTRACT
We can produce these videos for $1,000, usually covered by BK as part of our overall marketing efforts. Since this involves content creation, that’s why the editorial department supervises it.

OUTCOMES
- It depends on how popular the video is and how much it catches on, but by offering viewers a “free gift” at the end of the video in return for their email addresses, you can usually collect a large number of potential customer email addresses.
- It is also great for getting people emotionally invested in your book and helping our publicists demonstrate the book to journalists.
